As part of funding of over NZ$278 million for 51 research programmes in New Zealand, a geothermal resarch project has been able to secure NZ$4.4 million ($3.4 million) over a four year period.
The funding goes to GNS Science for its Geothermal Supermodels project, that aims to improve knowledge of New Zealand’s complex geothermal systems allowing better use of their energy potential.
