SANJES Energy Industry and Trade Inc., SANKO Holding’s subsidiary in the energy sector, has officially launched the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for the “9 geothermal resource exploration drilling and 3.5-hectare geothermal heated greenhouse project” it plans to implement within the borders of Kabazli Neighborhood in the Salihli district in Manisa, Türkiye.
This follows up on news reported earlier this year on the plans of the company to start the EIA process for the exploration drilling campaign.
The project, planned to be implemented with an investment of approximately TL 95 million (~USD 2.27 million), will involve deep geothermal drilling at nine different locations.
Each well is expected to reach an average depth of 2,500 meters. Modern rotary drilling techniques will be used, and each well is expected to be completed in approximately 50 days.
SANJES is also planning a greenhouse heated by geothermal resources, to be built on a 35,000-square-meter (3.5-hectare) site in the region. This greenhouse will utilize the hot water from the wells, creating an environmentally friendly production model.
