Maren Maras starts operations of two geothermal power plants in Aydin, Türkiye

Exergy has announced the successful commissioning of the Nezihe Beren 2 (13 MWe) and Emir (33 MWe) geothermal power plants in Aydin, Türkiye. These power plants are owned and operated by Maren Maras Electricity Generation Industry and Trade Inc. Both plants entered full operation on November 30, 2025, upon completion of their Ministry approval.

According to Exergy, the projects were completed in less than 13 months after the contract was signed, marking a significant achievement. The company emphasized that its ongoing collaboration with Maren continues to strengthen and thanked Maren for their trust.

This announcement follows an agreement the company signed in October . Exergy previously signed a contract with Maren for the supply of two new power plants with a combined capacity of 46 MWe. The agreement was signed by Exergy International General Manager Luca Pozzoni and Kipas Holding Group Vice President Ahmet Öksüz, with Exergy Türkiye General Manager Erdogan Arpac? in attendance.

Maren, a subsidiary of Kipas Holding, is a major player, accounting for 15% of Türkiye’s geothermal electricity production. The company operates seven geothermal power plants in Aydin and Izmir and aims to further expand its renewable energy capacity with new investments.
