Abstracts are now being accepted for the 53rd Groundwater Congress of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH 2026), which will be taking place at the Budapest Congress Center in Hungary on 14-18 September 2026.

The conference focuses on the crucial role of groundwater as a multi-resource essential for environmental sustainability, societal well-being, and resource management. The event emphasizes the importance of groundwater in supporting green energy transition, particularly through geothermal and mineral resources.
As part of the conference agenda, there will be a dedicated session for “Groundwater-dependent geothermal systems.” There is a wide range of other session topics on interactions within groundwater systems, sustainable groundwater management, machine learning applications, and the role of groundwater studies in water security, among others.
