Geothermal takes the stage at Bentley’s infrastructure event

Geothermal takes the stage at Bentley’s YII 2025 event as Fervo Energy and Flux Energy Solutions compete in digital subsurface modeling.
Geothermal technology featured prominently on the opening day of Bentley Systems’ Shaping the Future of Infrastructure 2025 (Oct 15–16). Bentley’s Seequent division, known for Leapfrog Geothermal and Leapfrog Energy, demonstrated how digital subsurface modeling is accelerating geothermal resource development.
Seequent expands geothermal modeling
The integration of Flow State Solutions extends Seequent’s toolkit for continuous modeling, from surface mapping to reservoir simulation. This workflow supports developers optimising field performance and reducing uncertainty across conventional and enhanced geothermal systems.
Digital pathways for the energy transition
A highlight of Day 1 was the session “Digital Pathways for the Global Energy Transition,” featuring Steven Fercho (Fervo Energy), who outlined how digital tools helping scale Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) and shorten project timelines. The discussion showed how developers use data platforms like Seequent’s to de-risk investment and boost performance.
Geothermal finalists in the Going Digital Awards 2025
Two geothermal companies were named finalists for the Subsurface Modeling and Analysis category of Bentley’s Going Digital Awards 2025, to be announced tomorrow:
- Fervo Energy – for advanced digital workflows in its EGS program.
- Flux Energy Solutions – for AI-driven geothermal field optimization.
Their nominations highlight how digital transformation is reshaping the geothermal industry within the broader infrastructure technology space.
Looking ahead to Day 2
The conference continues with the award ceremony and sessions on data integration and sustainable design. For geothermal professionals, it underscores how digital tools are becoming essential to project delivery and performance.
