Geothermal technology solutions company Green Therma and tubular solutions provider Tenaris have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration to advance geothermal energy solutions through joint technical development and industrial capabilities.
The collaboration brings together Green Therma’s proprietary Heat4Ever™ solution based on the patented DualVac™ pipe technology and Tenaris’s global expertise in tubular manufacturing, TenarisHydril premium connections and well services. Together, the parties will explore opportunities to support the development of next-generation closed-loop geothermal systems.
The collaboration reflects a shared ambition to contribute to the development of innovative geothermal technologies and strengthening European heat transition and industrial capabilities.
“Scaling geothermal requires both strong technology and the right industrial partnerships. With Tenaris, we gain a partner with the capabilities and global reach needed to support the next phase of developing Heat4Ever™ as a competitive and scalable geothermal energy solution,” said Jørgen Peter Rasmussen, CEO of Green Therma.
Green Therm had recently signed a Letter of Intent to evaluate the feasibility of deploying a closed-loop geothermal heat solution in the Rupertiwinkel area in Bavaria, Germany.
“This collaboration brings our TenarisHydril premium connections, dedicated services and technical expertise to a fast-emerging geothermal application, supporting the energy matrix. By combining innovation and strong cooperation, through a full European supply chain, we aim to reduce reliance on imported energy and strengthen Europe’s energy independence and resilience,” said Alessandro D’Angelo, Commercial VP Europe, Caspian Sea and Sub-Saharan Africa of Tenaris.
