Nevada signs legislation with 50% renewable energy target by 2030

Nevada signs legislation with 50% renewable energy target by 2030

The Governor of the State of Nevada, Steve Sisolak signed a bill into law raising the state’s renewable portfolio standard to 50% by 2030.

“By using more clean energy, we’ll reduce our carbon emissions and the smog-forming pollution that comes from fossil fuels – decreasing our use of pollutants in the air that our children breathe every day.”

The Assembly passed the senate bill unanimously based on a state vote by Nevadans in November 2018 that aimed to increase the renewable energy target from 25% by 2025 to 50% by 2030.
