Nominations open for 2026 Ruggero Bertani geothermal innovation award
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Ruggero Bertani Award which recognizes innovative geothermal projects and initiatives in Europe every year.
The European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) has is now accepting nominations for the 2026 edition of the Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Award (EGIA). Click here to submit your nominations.
Given every year, the Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Award (EGIA) is bestowed upon companies which have made an outstanding contribution towards the field of geothermal energy in the form of innovative products, scientific research or project initiatives. As with every year, the winner will be announced at the upcoming GeoTHERM 2026 in Offenburg, Germany.
Last year’s winner was EnBW in recognition of their pioneering CASCADE project, an innovative approach to lithium extraction from geothermal brine. The technology, tested at the Bruchsal geothermal plant in Germany, offers a scalable and environmentally friendly solution for lithium production, strengthening Europe’s position in the global battery supply chain.
