Geothermal resources have been discovered in Almeria in the South of Spain. Called Nijar, the field features a geothermal reservoir at a depth of 490 meters with an average temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.
Now, Sacyr International multinational infrastructure and service company, headquartered in Spain, is planning to build a geothermal plant starting in August this year
Following a second survey on the resource area, the initial capacity could potentially double.
Initial development plans see the construction of three plants in just two years and a faster development after that. There are several agricultural firms who have already signed up as customers for the plants.
