As reported by Chinese company Sinmach, its subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Co (CMEC), has signed an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract for one of the three 35 MW private geothermal power projects at Menengai, Kenya.
The contract was signed with Sosian Menengai Geothermal Power Ltd (SMGP), one of three private companies that won a development contract for the Menengai geothermal project by GDC in Kenya. The contract was signed in Beijing/ China on June 9, 2018.
This is the first geothermal power project that CMEC has taken on, and it is expected to help the company expand its business in this field, as reported by the company.
